The world isn’t created equally yet we try to create equal opportunities. What if sometimes you need to find or create those opportunities yourself?
Andrew Kirchner tells the story of how Sustainable Thinking brought him from Wheelchair to Social Entrepreneur. In 2015 he won the JCI IOBA Aspiring Creative Entrepreneur of the Year award and was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Korsou soon after.
In 2016 his vision to become a well respected speaker was awarded with a TEDx Talk in Aruba.
In December 2018 Andrew was appointed to the Supervisory board of the SGR-Groep, the same foundation where he rehabilitated after his Spinal Cord Injury in 2012.
Andrew “Andy” Kirchner was born on the Caribbean island of Curaçao but spent years living in The Netherlands before returning home. Apart from being a Social Worker, Andy fed his adventurous spirit by working as a Salsa Teacher, a Poet, a Balloon Entertainer, and as a Tourist Guide and Dive Instructor. After a drastic, life-changing event in 2012, Andy had to learn how to live again. He needed to face many ugly truths and use past experiences to rebuild his life to become The Recycled Pirate. Today, Andy is an often-asked public speaker, a holistic lifestyle and personal development coach and a self-proclaimed yogi. He teaches Mindfulness methods by a non-conformist as a Pirate who recycled his own life.
